On March 23, at a plenary meeting of the Perm City Duma, councilors listened to the programs of two candidates for the position of the Mayor of the city - Aleksey Demkin and Eduard Khairullin. The candidates previously received the largest number of votes from the members of the Competition Commission, which included representatives of the regional authorities, city councilors and the public.

Aleksey Demkin presented to the councilors his vision of the further development of the city. He stressed that the priority is to create a comfortable urban environment and interact with residents through various communication channels. According to him, the implementation of national projects should become the basis for the development of the city for the coming decades. The development of social and communal infrastructure, construction of roads, establishment of parks, environmental development - all this should equally apply to all city districts. At the same time, it is important to use all available channels of communication with residents, to work together with the Council.

After the reports, councilors asked both candidates their questions. The overwhelming majority of those present voted for Aleksei Demkin - 28 votes.

- My main task now is to form a city team, to give a new impetus to city management. In my work, I will rely on interaction with the city community and city councilors. Many theses from the presentation of my opponent Eduard Khairullin echoed mine, I invited him to discuss options for further cooperation for the benefit of Perm, - said Aleksey Demkin.

- Both candidates and their presentations deserve attention. They were quite interesting and deeply worked out. I sincerely congratulate Aleksey Demkin on his election to this position. Mr Demkin has serious political and managerial experience, - summed up Dmitry Malyutin, Acting Chair of the Perm City Council.
